Weather and events in the coming days and nights

Friday: Warmer but blustery, as SSW winds blow 10-18 mph and gust up to 28 mph, with temperatures reaching the mid-40s in the afternoon, when the chance of precipitation will be about 15 percent.
Friday Night: The chance of precipitation will peak at 25 percent in the hours around midnight, with temperatures dropping to near freezing after midnight as winds continue to blow from SSW 15–22 mph.

Saturday: Windy but likely dry, with SSW winds 15-20 mph and about a 25 percent chance of rain, and temperatures peaking in the low 40s in the afternoon.
Saturday Night: Temperatures in the mid-30s throughout the night, when SSW winds will blow 12–15 mph, with the chance of precipitation peaking at about 15 in the hours around dawn.

Sunday: Chance of precipitation around 35 percent during the day, with SSW winds strengthening to about 14 mph in the afternoon, when temperatures will peak in the low 40s.
Sunday Night: Temperatures will decline after dusk to near freezing by dawn, with SSW winds 11–15 mph, with the chance of precipitation peaking at arund 35 percent in the hours around midnight.

Assistance with public assistance Fridays

The Dillon Public Library will host a workstation for those seeking help filling out forms to gain public assistance 1–4:30 p.m. on Fridays. Both case managers from the recently closed Office of Public Assistance in Dillon will be donating their time to assist community members in filling out their applications or renewals. UMW bball Sat.
The University of Montana Western’s basketball teams will play a doubleheader at home against Lewis-Clark State College on Saturday, when the Bulldog women tip off at 5:30 p.m. against the Lady Warriors, followed by a 7:30 p.m. showdown between the Bulldog men and LCSC in Straugh Gymnasium.

FFA Alumni event Sat.
Future Farmers of America Alumni will host its Annual Dinner on Saturday, Feb. 3, starting at 6 p.m. in the National Guard Armory, 1000 Hwy 41 in Dillon. The event will feature a prime rib dinner, live and silent auctions, and door prizes. Tickets cost $10 per person and $30 for a family of four, and can acquired at the door or in advance from any FFA member or alumnus, or by calling Rayleen (406-925-0006), Barb (406-925-2657) or Caleb (683-4401)

Vocal concert Sat.
The Dillon Concert Association will present a concert with a pair of accomplished opera singers—baritone Anton Belov and mezza-soprano Hannah Penn—who will perform arias, duets and Broadway show tunes on Saturday, Feb. 3, in the University of Montana Western’s Beier Auditorium, starting at 7:30 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door for $15 per adult, $10 per college student and $6 per youth.
